Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and ex-chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals simple and easy to master methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell was a student and worked at the top New York restaurants. He was also a part of Iron Chef America and the culinary landscape of Italy. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking from an early age. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for restaurant management after she earned an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful opportunity for me. It was difficult to master how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduating, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy, she developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian cuisine and its culture. It will have a significant impact on the way that Burrell cooks. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of children who are struggling. She also is a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate, where she promotes awareness of the condition of children with diabetes. As a speaker, Burrell travels across the nation to speak about her passion for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate that I could be able to share her passion for cooking with others.
