Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his unique blend of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe, as well as her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by singing and playing the piano in the church. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in the Atlanta's R&B music scene. In 2005 she was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) was approached for a position as choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained attention in the performances that took place over four days of The 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine went on to sing during the 2009 Obama Inauguration.
